Head Coach

Jeffrey "Captain" Seaquist: Science Department Chair

Jeff was the Varsity Swimming coach at Xavier from 1984 to 1992 and has taken over the reigns of the program once again beginning with the 2000 season.

Jeff swam for Washington and Moon Valley High schools here in the valley, earning all-state recognition.  He earned All-America honors and was a 4-year lettermen while swimming for Western Illinois University.  He was assistant coach at Kofa High School in Yuma for one year before taking over the Xavier program in 1984. Jeff was also an age-group coach for Yuma Aquatics and with his father began a USS program in Phoenix, Swim Arizona.

While at Xavier, Jeff has also coached Varsity Basketball (1987 - 1997), JV Basketball and Softball, as well as Frosh Softball and Basketball.

Besides Chairing the Science Department, Jeff teaches Honors Human Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry and Biology, as well as being a moderator for the Science Club.  He earned his Bachelors degree in Zoology while attending Western Illinois and in 1997 earned a Masters degree, with distinction, in Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University.  He also teaches classes for Rio Salado Community College.

2004 Phoenix Women’s Sports Association Coach of the Year.
Regional Coach of the Year 10 times, 1991 State Coach of the Year.

Assistant Coach / Head Diving Coach

Kristin Pruett

Kristin is currently the Head Diving Coach of the Arizona Marlins Diving Team (2001 – 2004) and the Phoenix Country Day School.  As a USD Diving coach she has had 15 national qualifiers over the past 4 years.  These include one top 5 finisher and 5 top 12 divers.  She has coached 5 state champions at the 4A and 5A Arizona High School Championships, 3 second place finishers and 37 divers score points in the past 3 years.

In 2003 Kristin was named the 4A State Diving Coach of the Year.

In 1992, Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Central Washington University.

She is married and has three children.

Assistant Diving Coach

Jerry Summers – Math Teacher

Jerry dove at Kennedy High School in Iowa from 1985 to 1989.  He has United States Diving Water Safety Certification. 

Jerry has degrees in Chemical Engineering and Secondary Education.

He is married and also has three dogs.

Assistant Swimming Coaches

Douglas Esch: Theology Teacher

Doug swam at Brophy College Preparatory, Xavier's Brother school, from 1981 to 1985 under Fr. James La Casse, and Mr. Bill Doebbler.  He is an active participant in the Arizona Master’s Swimming program.  He began coaching swimming at Xavier in 1999.

While at Xavier, Doug has also moderated the Students for Social Action club.

Doug is the proud father of twin daughters, Savannah and Samantha.  They will be in 4th grade in the fall of 2004.

Jennifer James:  Spanish Teacher

Jenny swam for Xavier from 1984 to 1988.   As a high School Swimmer, she earned all-state honors and was an All-American in 1986, 1987 and 1988. 
She was also a Skyline regional champion.

She is married and has two children.
